We are happy to welcome Dr. Zezhou Zong to our research group. He joins us with a strong background in dynamic control of luminescent materials and dynamic polymers materials, and. His expertise will support and strengthen our ongoing work on liquid crystal elastomers , with the aim of enhancing their properties and expanding their functionality via supramolecular chemistry and dynamic covalent chemistry . He will be working in the project STAR ( Smart Biomedical PlaTforms

SPM is delighted to welcome Pedram Tootoonchian with a background in Chemistry and a passion for soft robotics. With his expertise in hydrogel actuators and nanoparticle synthesis in gel media, he will work on developing dual-responsive hybrid actuators by combining light-responsive liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) with magneto-sensitive hydrogels. We’re excited to announce a new addition to our group - Dr. Jose Guillen Campos! Guillen joins us as a postdoc, bringing valuable experience in donor–acceptor Stenhouse adducts (DASAs), azobenzene photoswitches, and liquid crystal elastomers (LCEs) .
